Health Inspector
A Health Inspector is responsible for evaluating the health and safety conditions of food service establishments. They inspect food preparation sites, storage areas, and restocking areas to check for potential health and safety hazards. Health Inspectors also conduct interviews with restaurant staff in order to learn what policies and procedures are in place, as well as any violations that may exist. Finally, the Health Inspector will issue a health report and suggest necessary corrective action if needed. People enjoy being Health Inspectors because it provides them with the opportunity to ensure that the food that people consume is healthy and safe. Additionally, having the ability to enforce safety regulations provides a sense of satisfaction knowing the public’s health is looked after. Finally, Health Inspectors also get to see a variety of work environments, which is often interesting and educational.
