Developed and executed in-house at EcoHealth Alliance, Living Safely with Bats is intended as a resource to help prevent spread of zoonotic disease carried by bats. It comes in different regional versions and is intended for use by people of all literacy levels. The guidance within was developed by the behavioral risk surveillance team through the collection and synthesis of academic literature and technical advice from an interdisciplinary team of One Health scientists from the USAID-funded PREDICT project. Feedback from local teams in over 15 countries was also incorporated into the resource. A recent publication in the journal Global Health: Science and Practice provides detailed insight into the development of this community-oriented, internationally adaptable risk communication resource.
