Historian

Historians research and analyze the past, preserving it for future generations. They study political, economic, social, and cultural aspects of the past in order to gain a better understanding of the present and future. Historians document their findings using books, lectures, and other publications and share their knowledge with their students, colleagues, and the public. People enjoy being a historian because it is a way to learn about the past and to be part of the conversation about how history affects our current and future actions. The role of the historian is to illuminate and expand upon the past, informing both the present and the future.
